The Toronto real estate market continues to be a tale of two markets; freeholds vs condos. Detached and semi-detached homes continue to see strong demand, while new listings haven’t yet caught up, leading to some intense bidding wars for most homes priced under $1,500,000 in desirable neighbourhoods. Condos, while still in demand, have seen far more listings come to market. With rental rates dropping, and vacancies rising, investors are trying to sell their condos, which is leading to the larger supply of available units. If you are considering buying a condo, try to target a building that has a larger number of end users, rather than investors. Those buildings should offer more price stability, as they are likely to have fewer listings on the market, at a given time.⠀ ⁠
